SuraSole Fall Risk ("the App") is a medical-grade insole application developed by SuraTec. The App is designed to assess fall risk, analyze gait patterns, monitor foot pressure distribution, and provide personalized exercise training recommendations through data collected from smart insole devices.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal and health-related information when you use our App. By using SuraSole Fall Risk, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

03 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide Core Services: Generate pressure maps, gait analysis reports, fall risk assessments, and personalized exercise recommendations
  • Personalize Your Experience: Tailor training programs based on your risk level (low, moderate, or high)
  • Sync Data: Store and synchronize your health data across sessions via Firebase cloud services
  • Enable Communication: Send push notifications for reminders, training updates, and important health alerts
  • Support Healthcare: Allow healthcare providers (with your consent) to view patient data, medical notes, and assessment results

04 Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal or health data to third parties. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

  • Healthcare Providers: With your explicit consent, we may share health assessment data with your designated healthcare professionals
  • Service Providers: We use Firebase (Google) for data storage, authentication, and push notifications. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process
  • Research Purposes: Anonymized and aggregated data may be used for academic research to improve fall prevention. Individual identification is not possible from such data

05 Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored using Firebase Realtime Database and local device storage (via AsyncStorage and Redux Persist). We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Firebase Authentication for secure account access
  • Secure local storage with Redux Persist encryption
  • Regular security audits and updates
While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong passwords and keep your device secure.

06 Bluetooth & Device Permissions

The App requires certain device permissions to function properly:

Bluetooth To connect with and receive data from the SuraSole smart insole device
Location Required by Android for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) scanning (we do not track your location)
Camera To capture images for medical notes and wound documentation
Microphone For audio recording features in medical notes
Storage To save reports, export data (e.g., Excel files), and store captured images
Notifications To send reminders and alerts about training and assessments
You can manage these permissions at any time through your device's Settings. Denying certain permissions may limit some app features.

09 Children's Privacy

SuraSole Fall Risk is designed for adults and healthcare professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete such information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

10 Data Retention & Deletion

Data Retention Practices

We retain your personal information, health data, and assessment results for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App's services. We do not store or retain user data indefinitely. If you choose to delete your account, your personal data and health records will be permanently deleted from our active systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal, regulatory, or security purposes.

Account Deletion

You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data. You can delete your account directly within the SuraSole Fall Risk app by navigating to Settings > Account > Delete Account. Alternatively, you can submit a deletion request by contacting us directly using the contact information provided below. Upon receiving your request, we will permanently delete your account and associated data from our active databases, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain information.

11 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and notify you through the App. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your data.
